There’s Changes Coming

Ever since NAR proposed deal was announce there have been rumors of the destruction of the Real Estate empire. Ther are those who will likely leave the market either by going elsewhere or entering an earlier retirement than expected. There are those who predict that the clients will be the ones which suffer. And there are those who warn of the way these changes has effected the U K Real Estate market.

It is true there were some who were quick to up on the band-wagon and start trying to undermine the industry. Most of those have folder. Even the largest of these first to take the majority of market shares has been purchased by another company.

At there height they had approximately a 3% market share. One company offered to sell your home for free. However, they offered little things like advertising, photos and a personal agent at a price and most people opted for the additional cost. We are likely to see things similar to those in our market soon. The saying is, “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.”  A quote attributed to Nicholas Clairmont.

Then there are speculators that there is more trouble brewing for the NAR, with one of those being Kevin Sears supposedly. Sears warned that the probing by the DOJ is a bigger problem and of it he said, “It is going to change whether we embrace it and adapt, or it’s going to be forced down our throats.” The only thing that doesn’t change is change. But to worry about the what ifs that haven’t happened is useless and probably not good for our health.

If realtor wish to leave instead of adapting to the changes, let them. That is the beauty of freedom of choice. If someone what to try to get a free home selling real estate empire let them. Without a means for producing profit companies don’t last long, and advertising free and then charging for the necessities of the industry will be seen through soon enough.

There may be turbulent waters ahead but keep your heads about you and you’ll come through them fine. The market will find its equilibrium and the professional will discover new methods for honestly sell and listing homes. Changes are coming, but who is to say that those changes will not help level the market playing field. The DOJ has been looking into the industry since the 1930’s one person wrote. They may see some areas for improvement in the industry. Lord Acton is said to be the originator of saying,” Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. There are sectors within the Real Estate industry which behave as though it has absolute power. Weather or not Lord Acton’s observation proves to be true concerning the industry is yet to be seen. Still the change never changes
