Trust

According to Dictionary. Com the meaning of trust is: reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence. Trust is a confidence that something is correct. The is an instrument that is used in the construction industry which contractors trust and yet that instrument relies on the integrity of its operator. It’s a transit level. This instrument is used for leveling and for grading in construction. Yet a transit level by itself isn’t complete. The instrument needs a level base which is obtained by properly setting up the transits tripod.  Integrity and trust are two leg of the transit which when set up correctly give us an accurate reading. You can be a person with great integrity and still not be trusted. When setting up the tripod the three legs are adjusted so the base for the transit level is level. Many of these have fish eye levels in the center. Which helps bring it in close to level but for the transit close is not to be trusted. The transit also has legs that are adjustable and these adjustments are used to bring the transit into level so that its reading can be trusted. The slightest error in this set up can compromise the integer of the instrument. Like the transit level, real estate investing also achieve its integrity by the proper alignment of the three legs of its tripod. One of these legs is trust.

How many have heard a person say when I was young, or back home, or a child, we never looked our doors. Today people have problems trusting their neighbors. If you do something nice for someone, they may wonder what you want. We didn’t have cell phone. We talked to one another not texted. I understand that I am trying to communicate with you but we get so much more out of personal communication. Albert Mehrabian was a researcher who came up with the concept that 55% of our communication is nonverbal, 38% is vocal and a whopping 7% is words. We sacrifice a lot when we choose to limit our contact with our fellow man. There is a lot that we learn watching someone deliver their message. When you can hear the excitement in the voice or the pain the person is under while talking with you, you gain trust in the individual because you have seen the honesty in their delivery.

We exercise our trust in things all the time. When you sit you trust the chair or couch will be able to hold you, because it held you before or the others were held by them so you should have a problem. When you drive to work you trust the other drivers will also obey the laws of driving. Chair get taken to the dump by the thousands and yet you still trust your chairs even though a chair like it was fond to be untrustworthy and was discarded. People make errors all the time while driving. Some people lose their lives because the other driver didn’t obey the laws of driving and yet we’ll get in our vehicles tomorrow. The truth of the matter trust is earned by observation and wee do the math in our heads to tells ourselves it will not happen to use that the odds are against the chairs collapse and the other drivers hitting us. Most of the time we are correct in are assuming but not always. As a real estate investor, you are one leg of the integrity tripod. Your co-workers, the members of lending institutions, and the renters have to be able to trust you. If you are not trust worthy you will have a hard time being a successful real estate investor in the long run.
