Change seems to be a popular word these days around the real estate industry. People are still talking about the changes which are come our way because of the proposed settlement. The industry itself seems to realize that this settlement will not be the last of its kind. I personally believe that other parts of the system will also be studied and more changes are coming. Change seems to constantly adapting our lives, our positions, our politics, our understanding into accepting a direction that we hadn’t seen. Sometimes changes are good, other times they fall flat on their faces also.
I studied the one size fits all cookie cutter houses that forced the owners to adapted their lives to fit those structures. I looked at the growing difficulty for a young couple to be able to afford a house. I questioned the way we had grown comfortable with the housing supply market. I believe to be a success you need to provide a needed service. This service could be entertainment, relaxation, or the ability to fulfill a need.
I came to the realization that many young would be first-time home owners are priced out of our marketplace. I came up with a method in which I can provide at a modest profit the opportunity for a perspective first time homeowner to purchase the home they need which is built based on their needs, but has the ability to be adapted into the home they will want tomorrow at a considerable savings.
The beauty of this method helps the community in which I preform these projects to grow. It brings people together and increases the property values in the community. I believe that those who seek this alternative housing style will also be those who seek changes in all aspects of their lives. I believe these individuals will encourage others to seek changes as well. I believe that as we seek change, we come to except that the easiest change to achieve is the change within ourselves. When we as a people seek changes that serves our fellow travelers, we will invoke changes which matter.
We will make our share of mistakes along this path but when we do let’s have the courage to admit that we have made a mistake and then describe the new path we will travel upon. Change does not come by excepting the status quo, change comes from studding the status quo, realizing its can not be changed by working within the system. Change comes through innovative thinkers who seek a better way. The industry is working overtime trying to invoke needed changes. Morality cannot be legislated. The system will change for the good when each individual decides they will make the needed changes within themselves and also hold accountable those who chose to take from their fellowman without providing a needed service.
