Estimating Projects Cost

There are many methods used for estimating the project’s cost.

• Some people figure on the moneys they want to spend and find someone willing to attempt do preform the task within that amount. DANGEROUS METHOD
• Some people look at the project and though their empirical knowledge come up with their number. RISKY METHOD BECAUSE DIFFERENT AREAS COST ARE DIFFERENT.
• Some people use the software which insurance companies want us to use. I believe those systems help the insurance companies.

When I estimate my projects, I use the R S Means Estimating Cost Costworks CD system.

• This allows me to adjust my prices to the area the project is in.
• Their information is accurate and has used by our government
• By going through each step of the project and getting a competitive cost your bids are more accurate and you more likely to retain your profit.
• There is no way I could come up with the amount of Data which is available to me through the CostWorks C D system on my own.
• If or when I have had problems, I have found that by calling their help number a person will walk me through the process or give me the method for obtaining my cost in that area under those circumstances.

This system is for professionals who understand the building process. If you want to have competitive bids for your projects, I highly recommend their products.
