How To Attach Brackets to The Roof Stealthily

Before the attachment of the brackets, it is important that you paint them to coordinate with the other item which will penetrate your roof. Then you simply attach the brackets with lag or Bolts, washers, both flat washer and lock washers as needed and then the nut to tighten them into place.

As visible I then calk around the bracket. Notice that I choose a position for the bracket that will appear just below the next shingles line.

The third and final step is to shingle as normal over the area. This is a cleaner look and the metal keeps the bolt-heads from cutting through the shingles as well as insuring there is no path for water to enter up to the bolt holes

These brackets will be used to support the twenty-foot run of railing used to mount the mandatory solar panels. This is a simple way to accomplish the task but the little extra make the appearance more aesthetically pleasing.
